So, finally we will be off and running--to Charlotte, using our GoWild pass for the first time. I am a planner, so I'm all packed. Because I don't want to spoil the flight cost perks of this pass, I was determined to pack light. I packed repacked, repacked, repacked, changed backpacks and repacked. This will be a test in so many ways. First, will this smaller backpack fit in their bin test and under the seat so I don't have to pay for carry on. Frontier charges for everything. Second, am I still overpacked and could do without some of the things I packed this time. I don't think so, but I will test it out for the next time.
Doing some layering since I don't want to bring a coat and all these sweaters and jackets won't fit in my back pack. I'll use them as pillow and blanket on the plane. In addition to all that (UGH), I'll also have to bring my CPAP, considered a medical device, which isn't supposed to count as a personal item. Frontier is nitpickey so we'll see if that's true. I have my prescreened TSA KTN, but Bob hasn't gotten his yet, even though we went to the same place, the same day, at the same time.
We will be picked up at the airport (if we can get seats) in Charlotte NC by my brother-in-law, Bob. He and my sister-in-law , Maryann, live in Fort Mills, SC, just 30 minutes from Charlotte.
Our plans once we're there are to do some sightseeing in the area, visit our niece, Tricia, her husband, Ryan, and daughter, Kelsey who I haven't seen in a very long time. bob wants to do some birdwatching and see local Nature preserves. I want to EAT BBQ and local fare. And we both want to do some local small town Main Streets.
Because the only direct flights from Denver to Charlotte are early morning (6:30-7:00), we'll probably park at the airport since UBER is not available that early in our area (we think). The kids live too far away and have to be at work or they'd take us. I think it's only $8 a day. We'll see.
Tomorrow, I have lunch with my good friend, Mary, from Phoenix. I haven't seen her in so long. We keep in touch by Zoom or texts, but that's not the same. On Tuesday, Bob and I get to see our friends the Olins (Nancy and Art) for lunch. Then, hopefully, we can get two tickets to Charlotte for the 3rd.
My next post should be about our successful reservation. Talk to you then, Getting excited.
